Mocha Moms, Inc. advocates for mothers and champions community activism. In 2006, the organization launched Closing the Gap on Minority Achievement, an initiative focused on addressing the health, educational, and financial disparities impacting communities of color across the nation.
Mocha Moms, Inc. began as a support group for mothers of color who adjusted their careers to focus on family and community. It originated from the MochaMoms newsletter, launched 9/16/1997 to connect and support at-home mothers of color.The organization welcomes all who align with its mission, regardless of background.
